Laura Moore's biography
The Apprentice favourite went into the competition to win, but along the way she learned a huge amount about herself, and was really able to sharpen her business skills. At 22 years old, she already had experience in both large and small organisations and from 4 start-ups, but really enjoyed being thrown in the deep end each week on the tasks.
Laura began her working life in a Management Consultancy, involved in projects with some of the world's largest consumer-driven organisations including John Lewis, Birds Eye, Virgin, and Tesco where she thrived on the challenges and pressures of the environment, whilst working alongside some inspirational business people.
She has also enjoyed stints working abroad, including a large beauty chain based in Manila- Philippines. Travelling is something Laura has always enjoyed, and she believes experiencing new places and cultures is very important and eye opening, as you are put into situations out of your normal comfort zone.
Recently Laura has been involved in an international mobile technology business, Service HeartbeatTM which is changing the way teams in various service industries are working together. As one of the co-founders of the business, she has been the driving force behind the marketing for the UK and USA. They have made big leaps in Healthcare, as well as planning expansion into other areas.
After following a non-traditional path –leaving University to co-found a start-up, Laura will continue to make her own way, and hope s to be continuously involved in setting up new businesses and making things happen.
"Even though times are hard, I feel so lucky to live in this golden age of communication where anything is possible for anybody. Anybody can set up their own business in a few days and start trading through through the internet or Ebay. I can video conference into a meeting being held in California, I can reach millions of people with a single post on Twitter or Facebook. Even though the dotcom boom has been, gone and crept back slowly. The world has become a very small place and it is a great time to be embarking on a career or finding your own way”
