Noorul Choudhury's biography
As a candidate on the fifth series of the BBC’s The Apprentice, Noorul competed for the opportunity to become Sir Alan’s apprentice. Winner as project manager in Week 4, Nick Hewer talked about Noorul on the You’re Fired show as a ‘highly intelligent bloke’.
Born in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, Noorul has always excelled in his careers. In 1998, having left University after studying Pharmacy, Noorul was employed by J Sainsburys plc, a FTSE 100 Company, as a Graduate Trainee. Within 12 months he quickly developed into a role as Customer and Marketing Manager as well as gaining the Chartered Institute of Marketing professional qualification. In that time he had the opportunities to develop leadership qualities and gain practical business skills.
Noorul’s ability of linking an insightful assessment of the external business landscape with the keen awareness of how money can be made led him into property development which he still does.
In 2002, Noorul switched careers to teaching where he felt that he could find both personal and professional satisfaction and the challenges are outnumbered only by the rewards that come from helping children realise their dreams. It also gives 12 weeks holidays that he could spend on his business ventures!
Post The Apprentice Noorul has successfully managed to carve a career in the media by appearing on BBC Breakfast and GMTV. He also regularly features on Sky and Virgin channel, Channel M as a science and business reporter. Noorul is also a guest presenter on BBC Radio Manchester, ‘Manchester Business’ every Monday.
