Since the series ended, Kate has been bombarded with job offers and requests for speaking engagements. She has landed a job presenting Five’s new daily magazine show, Live From Studio Five, which takes an alternative look at the news, alongside Ian Wright and Melinda Messenger. She has also appeared in numerous magazines and presented business and travel segments for GMTV.
Born in Cannock, Staffordshire, Kate was raised in the West Midlands. Her mother, a dinner lady and teaching assistant, and father, a mine worker-turned-mechanic, divorced when Kate was 16. She furthered her education with the completion of a first-class degree in Psychology and Management from Aston University in Birmingham.
Kate’s career was set in motion at Marston’s Brewery in Burton-on-Trent, where she joined as a graduate trainee before working her way up to Marketing Executive. An ambitious perfectionist, Kate continued to ascend the corporate ladder in her move to work for Starbucks as a Licensing Development Manager in Hampshire.
Self-described as positive, tenacious, and confident, Kate established herself as a talented, intelligent, and proficient individual. Her highly motivated personality and sharp work ethic led her to success on The Apprentice, where she enjoyed many highlights including her work as Project Manager on three occasions.
A relentless enthusiast, Kate fills her spare time with cooking classes, gym workouts, and travel. She enjoys attending social events, especially polo and regatta. Much of her time is spent feeding her adrenaline addiction with snowboarding, golf, horseback riding, and surfing lessons. The Indie music fan also takes pleasure in walking through the countryside where she can discover new sites and experience diverse cultures.
The Apprentice also introduced Kate to fellow candidate Philip Taylor. Although he was fired in the seventh week, Philip and Kate continued their relationship through the entirety of the series, and, the couple remain strong and reside together in their North London flat.
Kate is available for speaking events, providing a wealth of experience in a corporate environment. She is a well-rounded spokeswoman with a passion and drive for business, which she encourages in people of all ages.
