Naomi Lay's biography
Having completed three marathons, Naomi found her most recent challenge in series 3 of “The Apprentice” where she excelled in the sales tasks and was complimented on her presentation skills and creativity. Naomi made it to the final 6 before being controversially fired in the TV selling task. She has since been recognised for her dignity and professionalism and she prides herself on becoming a business success without being a bitch.
Described by some as sassy and determined, Naomi has an infectious sense of humour and loves to take chances; she has lived in both Paris and Madrid as well as spending time in war-torn Sierra Leone and Siberia. She has worked as an English language teacher, a tour guide and a photographer before climbing to Strategic Sales Director at Advertising.com managing a team of people who were all older than her.
On leaving The Apprentice, Naomi set up her own consultancy helping new businesses to maximise the power of the internet to drive revenues and has been appointed as Head of Display Advertising at AutoTrader.co.uk where she manages a large sales team and works with the top media agencies to secure large advertising revenue.
Naomi continues to be a regular commentator on business issues for the BBC and various radio stations and ironically, she’s secured a presenting job selling on QVC. She continues to devote time to inspiring young people to follow their ambitions and spot opportunities as well as working with Breakthrough Breast Cancer and The Sick Children’s Trust.
